Nominate your local sporting hero for an award!

Do you know an individual, coach, volunteer, club or school who has demonstrated outstanding sporting achievements? Make sure that their efforts are recognised by nominating them for an Actif Carmarthenshire Sports Award!

Each year the prestigious annual Actif Carmarthenshire Sports Awards gives the opportunity to recognise and celebrate sporting talent that we have in Carmarthenshire from sportsmen and women, dedicated coaches and committed volunteers, all of which make sport happen right here in the county.

The awards are organised by Carmarthenshire County Council's Sport and Leisure Team and supported by a number of partners and sponsors.

As well as the Sports Personality of the Year Award, the categories include Young Sportsman and Sportswoman, Disabled Sportsperson, Community and High Performance Sports Coach, Sports Volunteer, Inspiring Young Person, Sports Team, Young Team, Club of the Year and The Ryan Jones Memorial Award for Outstanding Services to Sport Category.

The countdown is now on to find the 2022 winners, which will be announced at a ceremony at The Ffwrnes Theatre in Llanelli in February 2023.

12 months ago (March 2022), more than twenty individuals, six teams and three clubs were up for a total of 12 awards.

A range of sports and backgrounds were involved last year including Athletics, Cycling, Hockey, Tennis, Gymnastics, Football, Weightlifting, Cricket, Darts, Dance, Rowing, Karate, Judo and Shooting.
