Carmarthenshire’s Active Young People Team are working in partnership with Ty Hafan to launch the first ever Rainbow dash for schools. The fundraising will help Ty Hafan to continue to provide comfort, care and support to life-limited children and their families in Wales. The Rainbow Dash is a colourful 3K route, where you can walk, jog or run your way through an explosion of colour as volunteers throw out clouds of powdered paint.
Queen Elizabeth High School and Canolfan Elfed are lucky enough to have the event on their doorstep and have embraced the cause, making it a whole school event, while schools a little further afield, Ysgol Dyffryn Taf and Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn, will be selecting pupils to travel to Carmarthen to participate.
The Rainbow Dash is taking place on Wednesday 26 June at Maridunam fields in Johnstown, Carmarthen, with the use of the fields having been kindly agreed to by the Johnstown Sports Association.
We are hoping that this unique experience will not only raise money for Ty Hafan but also encourage pupils to be more active and inspire them to join school and community running groups
