Walking football has become increasingly popular. It’s exactly what it sounds like – a standard game of football where players walk instead of run. It's designed to help people get fit or maintain an active lifestyle no matter what their age and fitness, as well as support people getting back into football if they have given it up due to age or injury. .

Actif Communities, in partnership with Wales Walking football, have set up a number of  walking football sessions across Carmarthenshire in order to increase the amount of opportunities for adults to participate in physical activity.


As the name suggests, walking football is an adapted version of the traditional sport where players walk instead of running or sprinting. This exciting and inclusive sport encourages people to stay active regardless of their age, fitness level and ability.


Not only are there lots of health benefits, walking football can be the perfect opportunity for those looking to make new friends, have fun and try something new.


The sessions are aimed for anyone over the age of 18, regardless of football experience and ability.
