The Actif Communities Team support Sports Clubs, Organisations and Community Groups in a number of ways, from help with how to set up a new club, how to mange your club finances, to vision planning and beyond. For more information click below

Is your community group looking to –

  • Increase participation levels
  • Improve standards through upskilling volunteers
  • Provide high quality and accessible sporting opportunities
  • Create new opportunities

If yes, then you could be eligible to access up to £1500 through the Sport Wales Community Chest grant!

Who can apply?

The scheme is open to any;

  • Sports Club or Association
  • Youth Club
  • Community Group (community hall, Community & Town Council).

Who cannot apply?

Community chest funding NOT available to;

  • Primary and Secondary schools
  • Individual members of the public
  • Local authorities

What can the funding be used for?

The funding can be used for;

  • Projects that have not started
  • Coaching courses 
  • Courses for volunteers
  • Venue hire*
  • Equipment*
  • New team, project start-up costs*
  • Playing kit*

The funding CANNOT be used for;

  • Membership, registration or affiliation fees
  • Insurance
  • Personal items of kit or equipment
  • One off events with no links to ongoing activities
  • Catering / Hospitality

Closing Dates for application

Please be aware that applications submitted after the closing date will be put forward to the next panel meeting.

Thursday 25 July 2019 (Panel will be meeting on Thursday 8 August 2019)

Tuesday 17 September 2019 (Panel will be meeting on Tuesday 1 October 2019)

Wednesday 13 November 2019 (Panel will be meeting on Wednesday 27 November 2019)

Tuesday 14 January 2020 (Panel will be meeting on Tuesday 28 January 2020)
