60+ promotion

As part of the Welsh Government’s Healthy Weight Healthy Wales (HWHW) Action Plan 2020-2022, Sport Wales is responsible for investing £1.3 million over the next 15 months into national leisure offer for over 60s which will encourage physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices. Actif Sport and Leisure have been allocated funding to deliver a specific 60+ programme for 2021-22.

Actif Sport and Leisure have been allocated funding to deliver a specific 60+ programme for 2021-22.

The aim of our programme Actif 60+ is to provide existing and future Actif Sport & Leisure customers and service users (aged 60+) the opportunity to re-engage with, or experience for the first time, a timetable of activities delivered in our facilities, online and in our communities that will help them start and live a healthy lifestyle.

The Actif 60+ promotion includes 3 stages and these are;

Stage 1:

First 8 weeks FREE (nothing to pay), saving you over £90

In the first 8 weeks you will get;

  • Unlimited access to gym, swim and fitness classes (across all Actif leisure centres)
  • Unlimited access to Actif Anywhere (our live/online and on-demand service)
  • Unlimited access to all our community-based sessions e.g. walking sport, back on your bike and more (see timetables below)

Stage 2:

If after 8 weeks you then wish to continue a membership and a direct debit set up, with this we will give you a 50% discount for 8 weeks (saving you up to an additional £47).  At this stage you can decide to take out a membership for any or all of the 3 options below, which are;

  • Leisure Centre membership, normally £27 a month (gyms, classes and swimming)
  • Actif Anywhere membership, normally £10 a month (online, live and on-demand classes)
  • Community activity membership, normally £14.80 (delivered from a range of community venues countywide)

Stage 3:

Whichever membership(s) you choose, we will continue to take payments by your monthly Direct Debit.  We will communicate with you before the end of your 16-week programme expires to discuss which membership option(s) suit your needs. At week 16 week the choice of membership can be an individual or mixed and matched as you wish:

Example – Community activities at £14.80 plus Bronze swimming membership subscription £24.10 (current standard price) = Total £38.90 per month.

How to Join?

Already an existing 60+ member?

The Actif 60+ promotion will replace our previous 60+ direct debit membership therefore if you have already restarted your membership and booked sessions between 10th August 2020 and prior to the closure on 19th December 2020 you won't need to do anything because we will have automatically transferred you onto the Actif 60+ promotion to start on the 3rd May.  However, if you’re not yet ready to take part and wish to delay it, please let us know by emailing us at Actif@carmarthenshire.gov.uk

Frozen members or new customers

If you are already a frozen Actif customer or you are a new customer who is eligible for the Actif 60+ promotion the good news is you can sign up yourself by following these steps; 

  • Click JOIN 
  • Select Site from the drop-down list (please select your preferred centre)
  • Select Start / Restart a Membership
  • Select Actif 60+ Stage 1, and click next
  • Complete your details
  • Once you've completed these steps you will now receive a confirmation email from us.  You will now be able to make bookings

How do I book sessions?

Once you have registered you are now ready to book your sessions and make the most of our 60+ membership 

For gym, swim and fitness classes in the leisure centre

On the app

The easiest way to book is via our app. If you haven't already you can download our app below;

  • For apple phone (iPhone) users click here
  • For android phone (Samsung, Huawei, HTC) users click here

Once downloaded, it will ask you to select a centre.  You can toggle between one centre to the next easily by clicking on the menu button (top right, 3 horizontal lines) and clicking on 'My Clubs'.  To add more centres to your 'My Clubs' list all you need to do is select the + button (top right) and there you will have a list of all Actif Leisure centres. 

Once you have selected your preferred centre simply click on the gym session, swim session or fitness classes button to view the classes available.  Once you've found a suitable session click BOOK and then it will ask you for your email address and PIN.  Once you enter these once and the app will remember you so for subsequent bookings you won't need to keep on entering your email address and PIN. 

Don't have a PIN? Click here to reset it.  Follow the steps and once you have reset it use your email address and new password to make your bookings.

On the website 

Alternatively, you can book on our website by selecting BOOK (top right of your screen)

Once you have entered your details you will then see all the sessions available on that day.  You can change leisure centre or select an alternative date by clicking on the calendar.  Once you have found your preferred session click BOOK.

For Actif Anywhere

To access our online/live classes or on-demand classes here's what you need to do,

On the app

  1. Click on the 'Online / on-demand classes' button
  2. It will then ask you to enter your email address and password.
  3. Once you've entered your details you will be able to view the classes available and BOOK

On the website 

  1. Click on the Actif Anywhere button (top of the page if using a desktop computer, or you'll need to click on the menu button top right which has 3 horizontal lines and you'll see Actif Anywhere in a turquoise box bottom of our screen).
  2. Then select 'Members'
  3. It will then ask you to enter your email address and password.
  4. Once you've entered your details you will be able to view the classes available and BOOK

Pre-booking essential for all classes 

For Community-based sessions

For all community-based programme such as walking sport, back on your bike, nordic walking, and more you can also book these easily via our app or online, here's how,

On the app

  1. Open the app
  2. Click on the menu button (top right, 3 horizontal lines)
  3. Select My Clubs
  4. Check to see if 'Actif Community' is listed there, if not click on the + button (top right)
  5. Select 'Actif Community' from the list 
  6. The Actif community app screen will now open in front of you and you will be able to see 'Book an Actif Adult Session' and 3 buttons underneath for each of the areas - Ammanford, Carmarthen, and Llanelli.  
  7. Select your preferred area
  8. You will then be able to see which sessions are running 
  9. Select a session and click BOOK 
  10. If you are not logged in it will prompt you to enter your email address and password before completing the booking.

On the website 

  1. Click on BOOK (top of the page if using a desktop computer, or you'll need to click on the menu button top right which has 3 horizontal lines and you'll see BOOK at the bottom of our screen)
  2. Enter your email address and password 
  3. For West or Carmarthen and surrounding area sessions, select Carmarthen Leisure centre from the drop-down menu
  4. For East or Ammanford and surrounding area sessions, select Ammanford Leisure Centre from the drop-down menu
  5. For South or Llanelli and surrounding area sessions, select Llanelli Leisure Centre from the drop-down menu 
  6. Once you have found your preferred session click BOOK

Click on the buttons below to access the Community-based (Actif Adult) timetables.  Pre-booking essential for all activities. 

Terms and conditions

Customers will be able to take up the offer throughout the year (1 May 2021 - 31 March 2022), meaning that there is no pressure to start the first 8 weeks by a certain date.

Customers will only be eligible to have one 8-week free period and one 8-week at 50% period during 2021-22. The 16 weeks (8 weeks free and 8 weeks 50%) must follow each other with no break.
