The Actif Van!
The Actif Van can be seen in communities all across Carmarthenshire on its mission to get 10,000 children actif!
Purchased through a Welsh Government grant its main aim is to increase opportunities for children and young people to be active, with a particular focus on those who live in rural isolation and/or areas of deprivation.
In addition to initiatives lead by Actif, the Actif Van can be used to support a range of community activity and we welcome requests to hire the van for sport, physical activity or community events.

What types of events can the Actif Van be hired for?
- Sports Club event e.g. Festivals, organised tournaments, open days, presentations,
- Charitable organisations events
- Corporate organisations e.g sports tournament
- National Governing Body events
- Town & Community organisations events
The Actif Van, will not be hired for use at:
- Raves / Music festivals
- Personal use
- Alcohol related Festivals
- As a sole use of transporting large items (mainly because the internal layout of the van doesn’t lend itself to this)

Who can drive the van?
For insurance purposes, only staff employed by Carmarthenshire County Council can drive the Van. For organisations wishing to hire it, delivery of the vehicle to your requested location is included as part of the hire fee.
CCC staff must hold a full UK driving licence and have completed the CCC Driver Assessment.
How long can the van be hired for?
The Actif Van can be hired for as little as one hour, and up to its next booking!
How much does it cost to hire the van?
We offer a range of hire packages for the van to suit all needs.
How do I book the van?

How will I pay for the van hire?
On completion on the booking form and agreement of the T’s and C’s, an invoice will be sent to your organisation which can be paid via cheque or bank transfer.

The Actif Van is funded through a Welsh Government grant administered through the Play Sufficiency Assessment on behalf of the Carmarthenshire County Council.
The van is the responsibility of Actif Sport & Leisure and all usage is managed by Actif.
Carmarthenshire County Council own the van and its content.
Priority will be given to opportunities within disadvantaged areas.
